The Surface Treat 360 combines up to four surface pretreatment technologies in one automated workstation. Electrostatic cleaning, flame treatment, plasma treatment, and Pyrosil® treatment can be used independently or in combination to support the requirements of each application. With eight rotating stations and full 360° workpiece rotation, the system provides controlled, consistent treatment around the exterior of products before digital printing, industrial printing, coating, decorating, or adhesive bonding.

Four Pretreatment Technologies in One System

Electrostatic Cleaning

Electrostatic cleaning can be incorporated as an initial stage to help reduce surface contamination before additional treatment processes are performed. Including cleaning and surface activation within the same workstation helps create a more organized pretreatment workflow.

Flame Treatment

The system supports flame treatment using propane or other combustible gases. Flame treatment provides a versatile, cost-effective option for applications in which controlled flame exposure is an appropriate method of preparing the workpiece surface.

Because treatment requirements vary by material and product, process testing should be completed to determine the appropriate flame configuration for each application.

Plasma Treatment

A 1,600-watt plasma treatment head provides adjustable height, rotary action, and vertical movement for controlled positioning around the workpiece.

Plasma treatment may be useful when a controlled surface-activation process is required, including applications involving heat-sensitive materials. The suitability of the process and the correct operating settings should be confirmed through application testing for the specific substrate and product.

Pyrosil® Treatment

Pyrosil treatment is particularly relevant to glass pretreatment and is performed using original 330 g Pyrosil cartridges.

The machine is equipped with dual cartridge holders that can support P and MGK cartridge versions or two identical cartridges. The Pyrosil configuration can also be upgraded with the Pyrosil STS 10.2 dosing module as application requirements develop.

Automated 360° Treatment Across Eight Rotating Stations

Workpieces are loaded vertically into one of eight rotating stations. Each station provides independently adjustable rotation speed, allowing the treatment process to be configured for the needs of the application through the touchscreen operator interface.

A universal fixture accommodates a variety of part geometries, including handled mugs. A vacuum clamping system securely holds each workpiece throughout the selected treatment cycle.

During operation, the workpiece automatically indexes from station to station. At each selected pretreatment station, the part rotates a full 360° so the treatment can be applied consistently around its exterior surface.

Individual processes can be performed at separate stations, or multiple technologies can be incorporated into a combined pretreatment sequence.
